The Amazon Expedition 21® is a personal and academic training cycle offered by Academia Amazônia Ensina®.
Our purpose is to create and share knowledge about the Amazon rainforest in the context of the economic and ecological discussion of the 21st century, contributing to the training of young people and adults to the challenge of reconciling economic development and conservation of the forest.
The route of the expedition is carried out in the city of Manaus, Anavilhanas National Park, Jaú National Park, Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve, Novo Airão City and ruin of the ancient city of Airão
The combination of the proposed activities offers a set of mobilizing elements to expand the perspective of ecology and contemporary society in the Amazonian context of the 21st century through experiences, special classes, technical and institutional presentations, visits to research sites and traditional communities, accessing and creating knowledge about the themes:
Ecosystem Services of the Amazon (SE);
local and Indigenous Populations;
Role of Forests in Climate Change;
Biotechnology and Economic Development in the Amazon;
Zona Franca Model;
Entrepreneurship and bioeconomics.
The participants of the Expedition Amazon 21® will be part of the network of young members of the Academia Amazônia Ensina® participating in a rich environment of exchange, interaction, collaboration and knowledge around sustainability.
